"Isabel Martínez's sound is distinguished by its warmth and delicacy. It maintains a perfect balance between virtuosity and contrasting moments of intimacy and introspection." - Melómano Magazine.

Isabel Martínez is one of Spain’s leading guitarists of her generation. She has performed in prestigious concert halls such as Milton Court - Barbican Centre in London, Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica and Hangzhou Grand Theater in China, among others.

Born in Cartagena (Spain), Isabel Martínez studied at the Conservatorio Superior Óscar Esplá in Alicante, obtaining the Premio Extraordinario under Ignacio Rodes, going on to graduate with Distinction in her Master of Performance at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London under Robert Brightmore. She holds a Master in Performance from the University of Alicante where she studied with David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Hopkinson Smith, Paul O’Dette, Roberto Aussel, Fabio Zanon and Shin-Ichi Fukuda.

Isabel appears regularly on the festival circuit worldwide and has had several works dedicated to her. Her first album “Noche Andaluza” published in 2019, raised a real interest among the public:

‘This disc is most enjoyable for both the quality of the music selected and the sheer musicality of the performer, who also enjoys the highest technical skills.’ (Ray Picot, ILAMS).

She currently combines her performing career with her passion for teaching at the Conservatorio de Música de San Javier in Spain. Isabel plays a Paco Santiago Marín guitar and uses Augustine Strings exclusively.
