Uros Baric

Uros Baric(b. 1987) is a classical guitarist, educator, and music producer fromSlovenia with a broad international presence.He has performed across Europe and North America, including Austria, Italy,Slovenia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the United Kingdom, and theUSA. He has performed at festivals such as the Classical Guitar Retreat (Scotland),Zvoki klasike (Ljubljana Castle), Glasbena mladina ljubljanska, GM Oder of theSlovenian Youth Music Society, International Guitar Festival in Postojna, ECHOS, Lent,and KRAS Guitar Festival.

Uros has released ten studio albums: Summer Skies (2013), Fernando Sor (2014),Baroque Music (2017), Midnight (2018), Zgodbe za Mihca (2019), Fingers of TimeVol. 1 & 2 (2020), Postcards – Saunders Island Suite (2022), Life’s Path – Works byLukas Heck (2022), and Solitude (2024). He has also appeared on MatthewMcAllister’s album American Collection (2017). His recordings have been praised byclassical guitar critics, including This Is Classical Guitar, and are regularly featured onSlovenia’s national broadcaster RTV Slovenija’s ARS program.A prominentfigure on YouTube, Uros’s channel has attracted over 7 million viewsand more than 27,000 subscribers, where he shares performances and instructionalcontent.

As an educator, Uros has led masterclasses and workshops on guitar and musicproduction at various festivals and institutions, including the Guitar Foundation ofAmerica (GFA), Classical Guitar Retreat, the International Guitar Festival in Postojna,the Institute of Education of the Republic of Slovenia, Virtual Guitar Orchestra andGitarre Hamburg. He also offers online lessons and coaching to students fromaround the world, with participants from the USA, Canada, Singapore, Switzerland,the Netherlands, Germany, Slovenia, and South Africa.

His interviews and performances have been featured on key classical guitarplatforms, including Classical Guitar Insider with Bret Williams, Guitar Foundation ofAmerica, Classical Guitar Corner, GSI Foundation, This Is Classical Guitar, and others.Uros studied guitar at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna underProf. Alvaro Pierri, earning his Master’s degree with distinction in 2011. During hisstudies, he won top prizes at international competitions, such as the 1st prize at theConcorso Europeo di Chitarra Classica “Premio Enrico Mercatali” and the 1st prize inthe AirString Duo at the “Citta di Gorizia” international competition in the chambermusic category.

He is the founder of Baros Records, an independent record label and recordingstudio focused on releasing high-quality classical music. To date, it has released over25 albums and numerous sheet music publications, collaborating with renownedmusicians such as Rene Izquierdo, Matthew McAllister, Bardic Trio, Agnew McAllisterDuo, CRduo, Damien Lancelle, and Marko Feri.

Uros is also the co-founder and producer of the Virtual Guitar Orchestra, a globalinitiative bringing together guitarists from over 50 countries. This project hasfeatured many of the world’s most prominent guitarists, including David Russell,Pepe Romero, Pavel Steidl, Berta Rojas, Yamandu Costa, the Assad Brothers, and theLos Angeles Guitar Quartet. The Virtual Guitar Orchestra has been widely covered in
major guitar publications, and the Library of Congress recognized it as a significantcultural project during the COVID-19 pandemic, archiving it as part of its permanentcollection.

He regularly collaborates with renowned composer and guitarist Sergio Assad, withwhom he created thefilm Novi Scientiam for the University of Chicago, and TheWalls, a project featuring Yo-Yo Ma and 60 selected guitarists from around the world.In 2020, Uros was invited to participate in the Legnani World Project, where 36internationally acclaimed guitarists performed Legnani’s Caprices.His recording of Schubert’s Ave Maria was featured in the 2021 Hollywood seriesMythic Quest.

Since 2020, Uros has been an ambassador for Augustine Strings and a MusicNotessignature artist. He plays guitars made by luthier Michele Della Giustina (2001, 2023)and Córdoba Guitars. In 2024, he was selected to create the official launch videos forCórdoba’s new models: Stage Traditional, Fusion 12 Cinnamon Burst, and Fusion 12White Sands.
