Andrew Blanch
Andrew Blanch is recognised as one of Australia's leading classical guitarists. Described as "the real deal" (Classics Today), "especially brilliant" (The Age), and a "consummate professional" (Sydney Arts Guide), he has won more than ten international prizes including First Prize in the Adelaide International Guitar Competition, Melbourne International Guitar Competition, and Whitworth-Roach Classical Music Competition.
A versatile collaborator, he has worked with orchestras including the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, and music groups such as Australia's leading new music ensemble Ensemble Offspring. For the last few years he has toured the USA alongside Argentine Mezzo-Soprano María Eugenia Nieva, playing more than 120 concerts across the country. A founding member of the Australian Guitar Quartet alongside the Grigoryan Brothers and Vladimir Gorbach, the quartet has appeared at the Córdoba Guitar Festival and the Adelaide International Guitar Festival, with forthcoming appearances at the Belgrade Guitar Art Festival and the 2026 GFA Convention in Denver.
He records for ABC Classic and has recorded four studio albums reaching Nos. 1 and 2 on the ARIA Core Classical Chart and earning over 1.5 million streams. His debut was hailed by Soundboard Magazine as "one of the best debut albums I've ever heard," and his duo album with harpist Emily Granger described as "one of the most extraordinary albums to come out of Australia in a long time" (Sydney Arts Guide). His latest release, Tierra (July 2026), features the world premiere recording of Daniel Rojas' Guitar Concerto with the São Paulo Studio Symphony Orchestra.
Managed by Tier 1 Arts, Blanch performs on a 2014 Greg Smallman & Sons guitar strung with High-Tension Augustine Regal nylon strings.
