Thiago Colombo

Thiago Colombo is a Brazilian guitarist, composer, and professor at the Center for Arts of the Federal University of Pelotas. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and a PhD from the Federal University of Bahia.

An award-winning guitarist, Colombo received prizes in competitions in Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, and Spain between 1998 and 2005. As a performer, teacher, and lecturer, he has appeared at festivals and institutions across Brazil and internationally, including Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Portugal, France, the Netherlands, Germany, England, Italy, and Russia, collaborating with organizations such as the Udmurtia State Symphony Orchestra, Bath Spa University, and the Festival Guitarras del Mundo.

His discography includes the albums Sonata (2003) and Reminiscências (2006), both released through Fumproarte, as well as Latin Guitar Connections (2017), recorded at Bath Spa University and released by TRL Records (UK). The album received two Prêmio Açorianos de Música awards for Best Composer and Best Instrumentalist.

In recent years, he has also developed an active output as a composer, particularly for solo guitar, with works performed and recorded by guitarists in several countries.
