Christian Verspay
“If you're looking for an original musician and guitarist – here he is !”- Guitar & Bass Magazine
Christian Verspay is an extremely versatile musician on both electric and acoustic guitar, and he enjoys forging his own path far from stylistic stereotypes. JAZZTHETIK Magazine describes him as "...a border crosser between the sound worlds of abstract avant-garde and new instrumental mainstream..." In his concerts, he primarily focuses on contemporary and freely improvised music. In his own compositions and improvised music, he has developed a distinctive musical language that is constantly evolving and seeking sonic expansion.
Christian Verspay has released four solo albums, among other works – all of which have been highly praised by critics as "convincing" (Akustik Gitarre), featuring a "unique musical concept" (Guitar Magazine), and highlighting his own composition "Entre Dos Luces" as a beautiful, touching, and atmospheric work (Classical Guitar Magazine).
Concert tours have taken him to Japan, South America, and various European countries.
Christian earned his B.Mus. and M.Mus. degrees from the Cologne University of Music and Dance and attended masterclasses with Roland Dyens, Pavel Steidl, Roberto Aussel, and Dale Kavanagh, among others.
